See our Live Nativity

Dear Friends,

This Saturday evening, I look forward to seeing you out on the front lawn as we watch Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds share the Christmas story in our annual Live Nativity. The wise men, of course, will come too, bearing their gifts.

But wait, there's myrrh!

We'll also have sheep and a donkey!

Hot chocolate and popcorn will be available to purchase (as a fundraiser for the youth group).

There are plenty of Nativity displays this time of year -- the creches in our homes, the front lawn displays, the Christmas ornaments. But it's a rare opportunity to hear the words of scripture modeled by real people, as the real wind blows through your hair, and your feet stand on the real grass.

I'm not saying the Live Nativity is realistic, but it is a real thing – not an art piece. And as beautiful as the art of this season is (we've been looking at a lot of it in our Sense of the Season series), Christ's birth at Christmas is, above all, real.

So, if you haven't already, O come all ye faithful, to one of our three Live Nativity performances: 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. It lasts just under fifteen minutes.

This is a great event to invite friends or family too as well. If you need a link to send them, use either our website or share this Facebook event.

In Christ,
Fr. Andrew

PS: In case the weather fails to cooperate, we'll postpone the Live Nativity to early next week. Our website and the Facebook event page are the places to look for updates.
