Principal Feasts and Other Feasts in 2023
Dear Friends,
As wonderful as it was to be able to join you digitally for worship last Sunday (and to hear Tim's very good sermon as I drove across the high desert of New Mexico), I'm excited to be back with you in the flesh and at our normal times on Sunday -- 9 am and 11 am.
This Sunday we're going to talk about why Jesus had to be baptized. After all, he was already God's Son and was without sin -- so why did he go through a "baptism for repentance?" The answer is not a historical curiosity -- it's at the core of how God saves us, even today.
Tomorrow at noon we're is the first of a series of new things in 2023: we're going to have worship services on the Principal Feasts and Other Feasts of our Lord this year. The first of these is tomorrow, January 6th, which is the Feast of the Epiphany. I know the noon service time can't work for everyone, but if you are available, come and celebrate this holy day with us.
In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
PS: The next one of these feasts is February 2nd: the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Temple, traditionally known as Candlemas.
