Praying for Rain

Dear Friends,

Something really strange happened this morning! There was this liquid substance falling from the sky and making every thing wet. Very, very lightly wet -- but still! I vaguely remember something similar happening in the past, but it's been a long time.

Did you know that our Book of Common Prayer actually includes a prayer for rain? It's on pg. 828. It's a good and beautiful prayer – and we're going to use it on Sunday, both for its stated purpose and as an example of the prayers that are in our prayer book as resources for the Christian life. This will be the final of the four sermons in our "Resources" sermon series, and it's based on the Lord's teaching of Lord's Prayer. I hope to see you there (or on the screen!).

Our youth have had a good week so far up in Kentucky on their mission trip. They've been working hard cleaning up damage from the tornadoes late last year and helping repair a house belonging to a family with a special needs child.
