Finding a Place to Serve
Hi Friends,
I hope everyone is hanging in there with the current high temps we are experiencing.
I have spent the month of June planning our fall HANDS&FEET schedule, and we have some exciting new opportunities coming up. Find one or two of our community partners that feel like a good fit for you and join us in serving our community!!
High up on our list is our commitment to our neighborhood! Each month, on the Monday afternoon before our food distribution, we will hand out snack bags to the residents of the Millennium apartment building along with a flyer for the food distribution. Our hope is that we make meaningful connections with our neighbors in order to find ways to support their needs.
Also, gearing up for back to school, please consider donating to our Burks school drive. It makes a huge difference when all students have what they need as soon as school starts so they don’t fall behind. If you have a passion for working with kids, MISD needs mentors. Since COVID has hit this program hard, they plan to make the renewal of the mentoring program a focus this year.
Next Wednesday is our FFF Food Distribution from 4-6. As Fr. Andrew mentioned in his note last week, we’ve seen an uptick of folks needing food assistance, so let’s be ready to serve! Sign up here.
Thank you all for all you do to support our Hands and Feet program! It wouldn’t have the powerful impact it does without your support!
Stay cool!
Lisa
