Introducing Our New Children’s & Family Minister
Dear Friends,
After over a year of prayer, searching, and discernment, I am so excited to announce that St. Andrew’s has a new Children’s and Family Minister, Holly LaFevers. Holly and her husband Larry, along with her two daughters, are not new to St. Andrew’s, but her call to this ministry is new.
As our Children’s and Family Minister, Holly will be overseeing our ministry to kids from birth - 5th grade. In addition to all the programming involved, her role includes supporting and developing our volunteers and being a resource to our parents. She brings new ideas, a tenacious energy, much experience building programs, and a heart aflame with the love of Christ.
Just to be clear, Deacon Logan will remain the youth minister and continue have oversight of our entire ministry to our kids and students. However, having Holly directly leading our children’s programs will free up Logan to engage more deeply with other areas of our worship, programs, and pastoral care. Especially as Logan will be a priest in a month, this change will allow new fruit to be borne of his ministry here at St. Andrew’s.
We are so very grateful to to Ashleigh Delizza and Michele Miller who have been doing a wonderful job caring for and leading our children’s ministry going week-to-week. While their roles will shift, they’ll continue to be important leaders in this ministry.
Holly’s first official Sunday is this week, and while I’ll be inviting her to come up front and introduce her, I’m counting on you to introduce yourselves to her.
In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
