How Eating Pancakes is being the Hands & Feet of Christ

St. Andrew’s Family,

It has turned into a cold February! However, the ice is going to thaw, and warmer days are on the way. Next week we start our Lenten journey culminating in Easter. But let’s not get a head of ourselves. Next Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday and our annual Pancake Supper. A time for us to gather and fill our bellies with pancakes, bacon, and sausage. I am getting hungry just thinking about it all. The most exciting part about Shrove Tuesday doesn’t have to be about the food. With every bite you take you are actually being the hands and feet of Christ. It’s true! The pancake supper is a youth fundraiser for our summer mission trip.

This summer our youth will be taking a mission trip to Western Kentucky to be the hands and feet of Christ to tornado victims. Your youth will be helping to restore the lives of those affected through home repair, clearing of debris, and specific programs that serve the impoverished areas of Western Kentucky. The mission trip is July 17th through July 23rd. We would love your support through such events as the pancake supper, sending your children to VBS and Lego Camp this summer, and most importantly through prayer. We have an amazing group of young Christians, and I am excited to see the work that God has prepared for them.

Peace and Grace,

Deacon Logan

PS: A huge thanks to all of you who ordered a Kings Cake. If you ordered a Kings Cake, they will be ready for pick up this Sunday across from Michie Hall!
