Brandi McSwain Farewell
Dear Friends,
Each Sunday at worship you receive a bulletin and you watch a sock puppet show. You might not have realized it, but the same person was deeply involved in the creation of both the bulletin and the sock puppet: Brandi McSwain, our office manager whose last day is tomorrow.
Brandi, of course, has done a billion other things in her 4+ years at St. Andrew's. She has answered the phone when you call; met the pest control guys; made coffee; searched the attic for that thing someone thought might be up there; supported many of our groups and meetings; offered insight and wisdom to our ministries; cared for our members… and so much more. Perhaps least known, but most importantly, she has prayed for you each and every week when we pray over the Connection Cards. She has been a wonderful gift to the parish and a partner in ministry on staff here.
This fall Brandi is going to return to her vocation as a middle school English teacher. Her last day is tomorrow, July 16th.
We are having a reception for her at 11:00 am in Michie Hall -- all are invited. Please come by and say hi and thank you. We'll send her forth with our prayers and well-wishes.
We will miss Brandi, but I also want to share how good God has been to St. Andrew's. We're juggling around staff responsibilities slightly and Lisa Ostrowski is going to take on the front office and administrative work in addition to her role as Outreach Director -- making her Outreach Director and Office Administrator!
I hope you'll join me in welcoming Lisa to this new role.
In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
PS: Some have asked if there's anything we're doing to give Brandi a token of our appreciation: We have a "tip jar" to which you can donate at the reception -- thanks to all of you who already donated on Sunday!
