Jesus is Never Lost
Preacher: The Rev. Logan Hurst
Scripture: Luke 2:41-52
In Luke 2, we encounter a moment of anxiety and revelation for Mary and Joseph. After the Passover celebration, they realize Jesus is missing from their caravan. Their search leads them back to the temple, where they find him fully engaged in his Father’s business, astonishing the teachers with his understanding. This moment reminds us of a profound truth: Jesus is never truly lost.
In our lives, it can sometimes feel like we’ve lost Jesus—whether through life’s busyness, personal struggles, or seasons of doubt. Yet, just as Mary and Joseph discovered, Jesus hasn’t abandoned us. He is always about his Father’s business, working within our hearts to draw us closer to God.
When we feel distant from Jesus, the first step is prayer. By turning to him, we realign ourselves with his presence, which has been with us all along. As we draw nearer to him, he helps us reorder our lives, prioritizing love for God and others. Jesus reminds us that no matter where we are or what we face, he is with us, transforming us from the inside out.
This year, let us embrace the assurance that Jesus is never lost. He is always at work, guiding us, sustaining us, and calling us back to center our lives on him.
