Enjoy God
Preacher: The Rev. Deacon Erica Andersen
Scripture: John 2:1-11
The season of Epiphany invites us to wonder at the glory of God revealed through Jesus Christ. The transformation of water into wine at the wedding in Cana is a story not of moral lessons, but of joy, delight, and transformation. It reminds us that Jesus doesn’t just meet our needs—he exceeds them with abundance and grace.
In today’s fast-paced world, we are often consumed by the pressure to maximize our lives. From self-help books to productivity apps, we look everywhere for transformation except to God. Epiphany is a call to surrender these worldly pursuits and instead make space to enjoy God and let him transform us. It is a season not of doing more but of resting in the presence of the one who created us.
Imagine the wonder of those at the wedding tasting the finest wine and realizing it came from the hand of Jesus. That same transformative power is at work in our lives, calling us to marvel at his glory and trust in his goodness. As we embrace the season of Epiphany, may we let go of the need to do and instead focus on being—being loved, being present, and being transformed by the God who delights in us.
