Many Gifts, One Mission

Paul’s image of the Church as the body of Christ reminds us that every part matters—each with a unique role to play. Too often, we think of this only in terms of how the Church functions internally. But what if we thought about it like a team preparing for action? The real work of the body of Christ happens not just inside the Church but out in the world, where we are called to live our faith.

At St. Andrew’s, this means serving in our workplaces, our schools, our neighborhoods—wherever God has placed us. Some of us bring healing, some bring wisdom, some bring resources, and some bring compassion. Together, we move with strength, responding to the needs of our community and sharing God’s love.

But a strong body requires care. Just as an athlete trains, we must nurture our faith—through worship, service, and community. A church that supports one another internally is a church that can serve powerfully beyond its walls.

And let’s embrace the “fashion fail” of the gospel: a church where unlikely people come together in love. A church where political divisions, personal differences, and worldly expectations fade because we are all part of something greater—the body of Christ.

Let’s keep growing, serving, and strengthening this body, knowing that Christ is our head, leading us forward in love.
