Update from the Youth Mission Trip

Dear Friends,

This Net article comes to you from Mescalero, New Mexico where the highs have been in the mid-eighties and in the low fifties at night. However, the weather isn’t the only way God is showing his presence this week.

Ten of our youth and five of our adults joined together with twenty-eight other youth and adults from the Diocese of Dallas to be the hands and feet of Christ to the people of Mescalero, and lives are being transformed. We are divided between eight different projects ranging from painting entire homes, rebuilding decks, and installing ramps for elderly souls. It is amazing to hear stories each day of how God has shown up on their worksites through the work they are doing, how they are taking care of one another, or how their client has shown grace and love towards them.

The night before I left on this journey with forty-three amazing people, Liz and I reflected on how many mission trips I have led youth groups on. It took me a while to count them up. This is my 31st mission trip as a youth minister, and this is one of the most faithful, hard-working groups I have had the honor to serve God’s people alongside. This is a testament to their love of God and the community of faith they are being formed within. Thanks be to God and to all of you.

I can’t wait to get back and share all the amazing things God has done in and through this mission team. Until then, we ask for your continued prayers. Also enjoy some pictures.

See you all Sunday!

Peace and Grace,
Father Logan
