Remembering The Epiphany
Dear Friends,
Happy new year! As I write this the church is going through the process of changing back to its normal state. All the greenery is being taken down, the huge Christmas tree is being taken apart, and all the nativity sets are going back into their boxes. It’s conflicting in a lot of ways to put the nativity figures back into their perfect packaging to be stored away for the next 355 days. It is premature, historically, because the wise men haven’t made it onto the scene yet!
We are moving out of the season of Christmas and into the season of Epiphany. January the 6th is the actual Feast of The Epiphany. The Feast of The Epiphany is a chance for us to reflect on the nature of God's physical manifestation on Earth and pay homage to three important visitors in the biblical account of Jesus' birth. We will have an Epiphany service this Saturday (January 6th) at 12 noon.
There is another reason to remember January 6th. On this day 54 years ago Father Mike Klickman was ordained a priest, and 13 years ago Father Andrew was ordained a priest! So come and celebrate with us the manifestation of our Lord.
Peace and Grace,
Father Logan
