New Year's Day Party w/ 🌮

Dear Friends,

As far as I know, there’s no better way to begin a day than with breakfast tacos. By extension, there must be no better way to begin a year than breakfast tacos. The necessary conclusion, then, is that you should get to the Thacker’s house on Monday morning for their New Year’s Day Party and get your year off to a great start. Also there will be cinnamon rolls and coffee and other beverages and more. They’ve invited the whole church; that means you and your kids!

As today is the fourth day of Christmas (Merry Christmas!), Monday will be eighth day of Christmas. New Year’s Day is the eighth day of Christmas every time. The year always starts on the maids a milking day (though for us, as mentioned, it will be the “tacos a la breakfast” day).

At one level, New Year’s feels thematically very different from Christmas. And yet it’s no accident historically or theologically that they go together. On Sunday, as we celebrate what is “The First Sunday of Christmas” in the church and “New Year’s Eve” in the wider world, we’ll explore how Christmas and New Year’s go together in our life. Come worship, sing, and pray with us as we offer the year to come to God and ask his blessings in our life.

Whether you are back at work, traveling, or at home — I hope you are finding merriment and wonder this Christmas season.

In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
