Growth & Gratitude Amidst the Storms

Dear Friends,

We have had some real “gully washers” this week! (If you are asking what a “gully washer” is, it is a sudden heavy rainstorm.) When it rains this much, I am always excited to see how much life comes after. I think my grass has grown several inches in the past few days. Here at the church, we have had several ducks take up residence in our retention pond, our grass is bright green, and the garden chapel is looking flush with beauty.

Just like the rain brings growth, new life, and abundance our faithfulness and trust in God causes the same growth inside of us. In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he encourages them to continue to lead lives pleasing to God, so that they will bear fruit in every good work as they grow in their knowledge of God. The body of Christ here at St. Andrew’s is a living testament to Paul’s words. The more we lean into God’s will for this place through our praise, our time, and our treasure the more God pours into us.

A few weeks ago, you should have received a letter from Father Andrew along with your quarterly giving statement. In this letter he wrote about some of the ways St. Andrew’s is growing. The announcement of Laura Bray becoming our Children’s and Family minister and Erica Andersen joining our ministry team as our curate are both signs of St. Andrew’s bearing good fruit in the name of God.

The continued growth and ministry of St. Andrew’s is surely the work of our God. However, without the body of Christ (that’s YOU) here in this place, without your continued faithfulness and generosity through your giving, all of this new growth would not be possible. And because of this I am grateful.

Peace and Grace,
Fr. Logan
