Bible Stories by the Numbers
Friends,
Today was day four in our first session of Bible Builders, St. Andrew’s LEGO summer day camp. This year we’ve been talking about a God of Biblical Proportions, which has involved building things by the numbers found in the stories of scripture.
This week we’ve created one hundred sheep for The Parable of the Lost Sheep, and when one went missing, we found it and threw a party, just like in the parable! We’ve also built a 1/100th scale of Gideon’s army from the book of Judges, and we’ve populated Jericho and then watched the walls fall. All of this and more has helped kids talk about how God is at work in things both big and small. An important lesson to learn early and be reminded of our whole life.
This isn’t our only week of Bible Builders. We have another completely full session scheduled in July, so be in prayer for the kids of this week’s camp as well as the kids to come later in the summer.
Speaking of things ahead in July, we hope you’re planning to attend our Fourth of July Picnic & Fireworks on July 3rd. It’s a wonderful time every year: fellowship, food, fireworks, and giant waterslide. There’s a sign-up in the announcement below if you want to help with the event.
One last thing to note, if you are interested in taking part in the April 2024 Mission Trip to Belize, the Belize Mission Team is still inviting you to reach out through July 5. You can talk to Cyndi Gore or contact the church office to get more information. (If you want to learn about our partnership with Christ the King Parish, click here.)
Grace and Peace,
Tim Jenkins
