Belize Dinner and Auction & Ministry Sunday

St. Andrew’s Family,

I was talking to a friend on Tuesday, and they asked, “How do we deal with all the angst, anxiety and fear that we are experiencing these days?” I wonder if you are asking the same question? I would love if there was an instant fix for all of us, a way to make all these feelings go away. It takes work. A change of focus in our lives might be the prescription.

One of the greatest joys of being in a Christian community is experiencing firsthand the generosity and love that pours fourth to those in need. Our Belize spaghetti dinner and auction is this week. As a matter of fact, the auction is live right now, with a boatload of great baskets to bid on. Liz and I have our eyes on the handmade cigar box guitar (The link to the auction is here)! Go check it out and BID BID BID!

It isn’t too late to sign up for the spaghetti dinner tomorrow night either. Come break bread with us and enjoy a great meal. All proceeds from both the dinner and the auction go to help our partner churches and schools in Belize. We will have outdoor seating for those who would prefer to be unmasked outside, in addition to indoor tables.

The Belize dinner and auction isn’t the only event happening this weekend. This Sunday we are having Ministry Sunday! Our hope is that you will prayerfully get involved in one or more ministry areas this fall. We need volunteers to serve on our Worship Teams that allow us to worship together each week, children’s church teachers and hospitality. There will also be tables set up in Michie Hall after each service to explore offerings of service, discipleship, and fellowship. There truly is a way for each of us to be involved in the life of the church.

When we choose to reorient ourselves to serving others, discipleship and fellowship, we choose to live into the grace that God so freely gives. My hope is that each of you will take advantage of the opportunities we have this fall and experience firsthand the abundant love of God.

Peace and Grace,

Deacon Logan
