Prayer List for St. Andrew’s this Summer

Dear Friends,

At our Annual Parish Meeting on January 21, our Senior Warden, Syd Verinder, announced that I will be going on sabbatical this summer. I am excited, and deeply grateful, for this opportunity.

The Vestry and I also recognize that having a priest be away on sabbatical is a new thing for St. Andrew’s. As we are drawing closer to the beginning of the sabbatical, we wanted to share with everyone a list of frequently asked questions and corresponding answers to help you understand the what, when, and why of my time away. However, beyond introducing the FAQ, I also want to ask for your prayers:

  • Pray for Fr. Logan, and for Liz and Mikey. Pray for wisdom in his leadership, that he is not worn down by the extra load, and that they all find joy in the ministry God is calling them to.

  • Pray for all of the clergy (Paulette, Mike and Gene), our staff (Tim, Carolyn, Lisa, Laura, Stephanie and Michelle), and all our volunteers. Pray that their ministries would bear much fruit in the lives they touch, that their work will be supernaturally aided by God’s grace. Pray for their families who make their work possible.

  • Pray for our Vestry. Pray that they will be good stewards of the resources of this place, and for wise discernment in the decisions that they don’t even know they’ll have to make yet.

  • Pray for our parish, that God’s kingdom would continue to spread through our programs and ministries, that new volunteers and leaders will serve, that generosity will flow with abundance, and that our parish will continue to grow in these months.

  • Pray for me and my family – Stephanie, Henry, Addie, and Drew. Pray for rest and renewal, for safety in our travels, for the Lord’s wisdom and inspiration in my work, and for a deep sense of the presence and love of God.

  • Finally, please pray for protection for all of us. Where God is at work, the Devil notices and draws near. It’s quite clear God is at work at St. Andrew’s.

Please look over the FAQ. If you have other questions or concerns, I or any member of the Vestry would be happy to speak with you. Please reach out!

In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
