Merry Christmas! Now What?
St. Andrew’s Family,
Happy second day of Christmas! Christmas Eve was very special this year. However, I did wake up Tuesday morning to thunder which made me think that a lot of people would be watching online due to the weather. When I voiced this to Father Andrew his response was, “This should be a day when people are waterproof.” He was right. The rain did not stop you from coming and celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. If you were at the 4 pm service, you witnessed all the children reenacting the Nativity story. There’s nothing like the voices of the innocent taking us on a journey to Bethlehem to see the baby, Jesus.
If you attended the 12 noon or 9 pm service, you heard from Father Andrew’s sermon about the spirit of indulgence found in the nativity story. He talked about how God really showed off on this special night by bringing good news, glory, and love. I truly hope and pray that each of you were able to partake in the richness and indulgence of God’s love this Christmas.
If you’re like me, you wake up on the day after Christmas and wonder what’s next? A new calendar year is upon us: 2025 is a few short days away. What’s next? What will this new year bring? How am I going to better the relationships that are in my life? What areas of my life do I need to adjust to be more present to the work God is doing in my life?
Ok, maybe I am an over thinker. But shouldn’t we be asking ourselves these questions? As we move towards the new year, may we each hold onto the love God so abundantly poured out on us in and through his son, Jesus Christ. The Gospel of John tells that through the fullness of Jesus we have received, grace upon grace. So, walk confidently into the new year because each of us are deeply loved by the creator of the universe. Merry Christmas!
Peace and Grace,
Father Logan
