Join a Worship Team
Dear Friends,
Dozens of people work together each Sunday to enable our worship of God. It would be a gift to yourself, to your relationship with God, and to St. Andrew’s if you would be one of those people by signing up for a Worship Team in the coming year (September 2024 - August 2025).
Worship Teams are the way we at St. Andrew’s organize our Sunday worship ministries — greeters, ushers, lay readers, chalice bearers, children’s church teachers, coffee/donuts, prayer partners, sound and video team, and altar guild. Each of our 8 Worship Teams is led by a couple or an individual, and the team consists of members who work together to lead one service a month.
Worship Team sign-ups begin this Sunday, August 4.
Sign up posters — one for each service of a normal month as well as a poster for substitutes only — will be on the wall of the Great Hall.
This first week, sign up for only one role. Signing up for multiple spots at the beginning of sign-ups makes others think there is no room for them. (You can sign-up for more spots in a couple of weeks.)
There will be a short description of each role in the bulletin.
Sign up for something you haven’t done before! We will train you at our training day on September 14 (Sat).
If you’re serving as a family, consider all signing up for the same service, even if you’re doing different roles.
Ideally, everyone ages 8 and older would be on a Worship Team. But as we work towards that goal, I’m going to challenge the congregation to increase the number of Worship Team participants by 50% — which would be about 150 people participating.
There is certainly a practical element to this. Having full worship teams enable our services to be welcoming and warm, as well as to run smoothly. More importantly, however, I am asking you to be a part of a worship team as an act of faith and discipleship. Our worship is our shared offering. It’s an important part of how we as a church express our love to God and our love for one another.
See you all Sunday!
Peace and Grace,
Father Logan
