Who do you think you are?
Preacher: Tim Jenkins
Scripture: Matthew 10:24-39
Many of us live our faith as if we are just trying to earn a place with God—trying to be good enough, knowledgeable enough, or faithful enough. But Jesus reminds his disciples of something deeper: before anything else, they are his beloved.
The love of God is not just an abstract idea. It is deeply personal, intimate, and transformational. Jesus tells his disciples that the relationship they have with him is not just about rules or religious knowledge—it is about knowing themselves as deeply loved by God.
When we embrace this truth, everything shifts. We begin to follow Christ not out of fear, obligation, or duty—but because we are drawn into the overwhelming love that has already been given to us. This love changes us. It redefines our identity, our desires, and even the way we see the world.
So let me ask you: Do you think of yourself as God’s beloved? If not, hear this today—you are. And because you are, Jesus calls you to go and tell others that they are too.
