The daughter of a church organist, Laura grew up in Madison Mississippi. She began her church music work at the age of 14, directing and accompanying the children’s choirs in her home church. Since then, she has served many churches as a director, associate director, pianist, or director of Christian education at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Southlake, University Park United Methodist Church, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Oxford, and Madison United Methodist Church.

Laura is also an active professional choral, chamber, and opera singer, performing frequently in the region. She has appeared as a soloist with Orpheus Chamber Singers in Dallas, American Baroque Opera Company, Orchestra of New Spain, Dallas Bach Society, Vox Humana, and Ars Lyrica of Houston among others. Before “settling down” in DFW, Laura spent summers singing in Europe, and has done concerts in Mexico and South America as well. She is a Certified Early Childhood Music Specialist and has extensive training in somatic mapping and performing arts health. She holds degrees in voice from the University of North Texas and the University of Mississippi.

Her passion for sacred music and service is one she shares with her husband, Clinton, who is a conductor, organist, and composer, currently serving University Park UMC in Dallas. Laura and Clinton have two daughters, Jennings Catherine (JenniCate for short) and Samantha. In her spare time, Laura enjoys anything artistic or crafty, all things sweet and/or caffeinated, reading history and non-fiction, and being in, on, or near water.
